GREAT LOSS

As most of you know, Laury Blair died on Sunday, June 14th.  Laury was a warm and delightful woman.  She was a charter member of the guild, owned the quilt shop in Potosi, and was a great supporter of the guild and quilters.  The guild gave the family a card, a charter member photo, and a framed, hand-quilted “Heart String” block.  Laury will be greatly missed.

Our hearts also go out to two other of our members who experienced tremendous losses this month, Mary Heberlie lost her son and Bobbie Christopher lost a brother and a niece.  Our deepest sympathies to you and your families.

The next meeting will be July 14, 2009

CLASSES/WORKSHOPS/ACTIVITIES

DON’T FORGET:

The Classes/Workshops/Activities committee needs your help to prioritize guild events.  Be sure to complete and return the flier that was distributed to members at the June meeting.  A modified version is also on the website and some copies will be available at the July meeting, too.

MEMBERSHIP

In case you forgot, the new membership year started in June 2009.   Don’t let July pass you by without renewing your membership to Threads of Friendship Quilters’ Guild!

So far, we have 41 members who have renewed for the 2009-10 year, and we have 2 brand new members!   Together, we can make this the best year of our early guild life!

The executive board has met, and has developed a survey for the membership to determine what activities would be most welcome.  Please refer to the side panel for a link to the survey :).  Descriptions of each activity are also linked to this page, click on "Activity Descriptions".  The  survey will be available at the next meeting.
